New Equipment at Horn Memorial Hospital benefits Patients and Staff
June 6, 2011
Horn recently upgraded the Telemetry Unit and Infant Warmer in the Nursing Department. The Telemetry Unit allows nursing to remotely measure and report information on patients' heart rate and rhythm from both the Nurse's Station and Emergency Room. The new Unit will monitor up to 16 patients at one time. With this unit we now have 6 wireless telemetry packs, 2 portable monitors and 2 bedside monitors to better accommodate our patients and nurses.
The Infant Warmer provides warmth and easy access by the hospital staff to the newborn after delivery and during medical procedures. The Warmer has the ability to provide suction and blended oxygen, a mixture of room air and oxygen, to those newborns needing assistance with breathing after delivery. The oxygen blender feature puts us in compliance with the 2010 Neonatal Resuscitation Program Guidelines.
