Horn Memorial Hospital to Offer Community Educational Programs
Septemeber 24, 2010
Horn Memorial Hospital (HMH) is inviting all interested community members and professionals to attend two free educational programs in October.
Jackson Recovery Centers will present programs on three consecutive Tuesday evenings, beginning on October 5th with the discussion of "Addiction"; on October 12th with the topic of "Co-Dependency"; and on October 19th on "Recovery". Each session will be held in the HMH Conference Center from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. This educational series will benefit anyone who needs more information on addictions and recovery, including professionals who deal with addiction, as well as other individuals affected by their own or another's addiction. This is not group therapy, but rather, an educational opportunity. All confidentiality and privacy will be respected.
The program "Lessons of Grief" will be offered on Monday, October 18th in the HMH Conference Center from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and will be presented by Brenda Zahnley, Director of Bereavement Services at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes of Sioux City. This program is intended to leave participants with an enhanced understanding of grief and what responses are necessary to facilitate a healthy growth process following the death of a loved one.
Nursing continuing educational credits will be available free of cost for all programs. For further information, please contact Kim Nieman at Horn Memorial Hospital 364.3311.
