What will you change?

I follow personal coach, Thomas Plummer on Facebook and often find his posts to be motivational as he points out the obvious, challenging his followers to do what's best for them. The post below made me evaluate my lifestyle choices; what modifications are necessary to make my projected goals a reality? What can I change to meet my fitness goals? What can I change at my job to meet my career goals? What can I change about living my personal faith to meet my spiritual goals? What can I change to become truly happy? And the list goes on and on. Why is it that telling ourselves it's time to make a change so easy, but actually making the change so challenging? Why do we go to bed one night excited with new motivation and wake up the next morning doing exactly what we did yesterday?

"The fear of change often wins over the need to change for many clients. People join gyms and never change their weight or how they look. For these people, fear of letting go and accepting change is stronger than their drive to eliminate the demons, such as weight, bad health or smoking. If you want change in your life, you have to let go. First, let go of what you think you know about nutrition. ...There is no magic diet and every good book comes down to the same conclusions: eat real food, eat a lot of veggies, eliminate the crap and drink water. Secondly, you have to let go of the sedentary life. If you want to change you have to create an active lifestyle. All a gym is supposed to do is supplement an active life, not replace it. Move every day for an hour minimum and you are on your way. Finally, let go of your past. What you did 20 years ago won't work for you now. You're older, beaten up and need to let a great coach fit a program to who you are now, not who you were back in the day. There are people who will choose an early death over change and the difference between them and you is the willingness to accept that who you were is not who you will be tomorrow." - Thomas Plummer, personal coach

I would like to challenge anyone reading this to make a list of changes you'd like to see in your life and prioritize them within the month. Start small, work big. Make the changes that will make you healthier, happier and more successful, because you deserve it. Only you are stopping you. What are you ready to change?
