Horn Physicians Clinic-Ida Grove Welcomes New Provider
January 31, 2011
Horn Physicians Clinic (HPC) in Ida Grove welcomes their newest provider, Curtiss Farrell, MD. Dr. Farrell comes to Ida Grove with over 24 years of family practice and obstetric experience and will begin seeing patients at Horn Physicians Clinic-Ida Grove on Monday, January 31st.
Dr. Farrell, a Nebraska native, began his education at McCook Community College. After receiving his Associates Degree, he took a break from his education when he returned home to farm. Three years later he shifted his focus back to his education and future in medicine. Dr. Farrell attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln where he received his pre-med training before going on to the University of Nebraska Medical Center to obtain his Medical Degree. He completed his Residency in Sioux City and has spent the majority of his career practicing in the Siouxland area.
Dr. Farrell resides in Dakota Dunes with his wife Kim, and son, a junior at Bishop-Heelan. In addition to his son who lives at home, he has four grown children. Dr. Farrell and his wife plan to remain at their Dakota Dunes residence until their son graduates high school. They hope to permanently relocate to the Ida Grove area shortly thereafter.
When asked what brought him to Ida Grove, Dr. Farrell commented, "I was born to be a small town doctor. Family medicine is about the special relationships you build with your patients, and I went into medicine to take care of people."
Horn Physicians Clinic has been looking to add a physician with OB experience for quite some time. Marc Augsburger, President and CEO, commented "After months of interviewing and searching, we feel confident that Dr. Farrell will be a good fit for both the clinic and the community. Anyone who has the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Farrell will quickly deduce that he has a love for people."
The addition of Dr. Farrell to Horn Physicians Clinic is quite timely with Dr. Hesse and Jackie Crampton, Nurse Practitioner, making their move to Mapleton in mid-February. Although both Hesse and Crampton will practice primarily in the Mapleton office; each will also still have one day a week where they will see patients in Ida Grove. With Dr. Farrell seeing patients full time in Ida Grove, the expansion of Horn Physicians Clinic to Mapleton should be seamless.
An open house to meet Dr. Farrell has been set for Thursday, February 3rd in the Horn Memorial Hospital Conference Center from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Join us for an informal meet and greet to welcome Dr. Farrell to Horn Physicians Clinic-Ida Grove.
